Overview
Shonga School Furniture World trading under the registered business name Metro Advertising Limited, is looking for an experienced and dedicated accounting professional to maintain and interpret all company financial records.
This person will be responsible for a variety of financial tasks crucial to the success of our business, including invoicing and collecting accounts receivable, performing weekly reconciliation of accounts, and handling year-end tax reporting activities.
As a go-to financial expert, the accounting professional will help identify areas for streamlining processes and achieving greater efficiencies while assisting with the smooth daily operations of our finance department.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Analyse manufacturing costs and preparing reports comparing actual costs to budgeted
- Reviewing inventory and production transactions to ensure accuracy and proper cost allocation
- Conducting variance analysis to identify and explain differences between actual and budgeted costs
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities to reduce costs and increase efficiency
- Participating in the development of standard costs for new and existing products
- Preparing and analysing financial financial statements and other financial reports related to cost accounting
- Providing recommendations to management on cost savings opportunities and process improvements
- Record and keep track of all financial transactions (revenue & expenditure)
- Filing returns to relevant authorities
- Bank reconciliations
- Managing company assets including depreciation
- Manage payroll and wages for workers
- Any other accounting related tasks assigned by management
Must Have Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree or Higher in Accounting or Finance
- 2+ years of experience in an accounting role
- ACCA or CIMA Certified
- Strong knowledge of costing accounting principles and techniques
- Experience with ERP systems, accounting systems and Excel
- Exceptional oral written English language
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Keen attention to detail
